Friable Asbestos

Many parents are wondering what they should do and whether or not they should be worried if they find out there is asbestos in their child's school. This is very concerned about as many deaths due to medical problems that can cause asbestos. You know what to do and what is the first step in the process when you learn that the asbestos in your school.

The first thing you should do if you learned that asbestos in the school your child attends, to obtain a copy of the asbestos control plan. This is the plan that the school must have in place, by law, and it will show you what has been done since the last assessment was done. You'll know the type and location of any building materials that are still in school asbestos. The school is required to update the plan on a regular basis, including updates status of asbestos and they must also maintain records of asbestos removal, if it ever did.
