Friable Asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber mined from the earth. It is a powerful, flexible and resistant to heat, chemicals and electrical conditions. They occur in two skupine.Skupine includes white serpentine (chrysotile) azbest.Amfibol group includes brown (amosite) and blue (crocidolite) asbestos.

"Bonded" is a type of asbestos that is firmly embedded in the material that these materials are likely to release measurable levels of asbestos fibers into the air, if left undisturbed. Therefore, they generally represent a lower risk to health. Example bonded contain asbestos materials include asbestos cement products (flat and corrugated sheeting used in walls, ceilings and roofs, molded items such as pipe down), vinyl flooring.

Another type of asbestos is friable. Dilapidated relating to asbestos-containing materials can be easily reduced to powder by hand when dry. These materials are more likely to release measurable levels of asbestos in the air when disturbed, and generally have a greater risk to health. Friable asbestos-containing materials include sprayed asbestos fire retardants.
